Chillin by the pool

Kyle had his first trip to hang out by the pool this week - he also had a quick 'foot dip' with Daddy which was not quite as peaceful as the photos below!

Ever expanding Kyle!

Today Kyle had his weekly weigh in and true to form, he is continuing to expand at a great rate. This week he weighed 12lb 11, an 11oz gain since last week. Lynsey read today that if your baby is gaining more than 8oz a week, they are over eating - it would appear that Kyle is following the pattern of the other Ross/MacDonald boys! :)

It feels like there is a lot going on this week. He is really beginning to make progress on his head control, he almost rolled over and today, Mummy put him in his big boy bed for the first time.

The other major news in the Ross household is that we have booked our flights home to the motherland... for good. We are leaving the US on October 11th and going back to set up life in Scotland. It is going to be an incredibly bittersweet experience. We have loved our time here in Houston and we have learnt so much about ourselves, our faith and our marriage. We have met some incredible people and made some life long bonds... and we have had a lot of fun doing new and different things! Anyway... before I go on forever, we will stop there and come back to that another time.

What a wriggler!

Kyle has begun wriggling about in the middle of the night such that he moves down the cot as he sleeps. This morning we woke up at 6.15am and he had slid right down his sleep positioner and he was kicking the end of the cot and giggling - we giggled when we saw him and figured it was a pretty nice way to be woken up. Here are a couple of pictures - it might be hard to figure out what he had done.

Fun with Mummy

We are having so much fun with Kyle, he is really smiley and content. When we ask him if he has any 'stories' he gives us a beaming smile! Here are a couple of pictures of Kyle having fun with Mummy.

Granny and Grandpa John arrived!

Granny and Grandpa John arrived yesterday from Scotland. 5 weeks has been a long wait for Granny to get her first cuddle, so when we met at the airport there was a very clear agenda!

We are blessed to have a big and healthy baby boy who is growing by the day - at his last weigh in, Kyle was 4 weeks old and 10lb 10oz... a 10oz gain in a week! Here is a photo to prove it:

Some new photos

Col has been out of town this week in New Orleans hence fewer updates on the blog - here are some new photos we thought you might enjoy. My Mum also left on Thursday - she has been so amazing over the past 5 weeks and it was very hard to say goodbye! We are looking forward to Kyle's first trip back to Scotland to see Granny and Grandad again soon.

At the office with Daddy

Kyle went to his first business meeting on Friday - a trip to Daddy's office. If you look closely at his pose, you will see he was exactly mimicing his daddy on a Friday afternoon!
